Painting the Cars We Never Forget
For Allan Buch, automotive art begins with emotion.
Not horsepower.
Not market value.
Not specification.
I am Allan Buch, a Danish Automotive Artist dedicated to capturing the emotion, speed, and timeless beauty of the world’s most iconic cars. Through bold colours, expressive textures, and dynamic compositions, I transform automotive legends into original works of art that celebrate both engineering and passion.
My work has recognizable, realistic cars/people combined with expressive backgrounds, drips, fluorescent colors and abstract elements.
My inspiration comes from the cars that have shaped automotive history, from the unmistakable lines of Ferrari and Porsche to the intensity of Formula 1, endurance racing, and the culture that surrounds motorsport. Every painting is driven by the same excitement that fuels drivers, collectors, and enthusiasts around the world.
Each artwork is created by hand, combining contemporary artistic techniques with a deep appreciation for automotive design. Rather than simply painting cars, I aim to capture their character, movement, and the emotions they evoke.
My large scale paintings are created for collectors, car enthusiasts, luxury homeowners, automotive brands, and anyone who shares a passion for exceptional automobiles. Whether it’s an original painting for a private collection or a bespoke commission celebrating a personal automotive story, every piece is designed to become a lasting statement of art and passion.
I approach each subject as more than an automobile. The objective is to find its character. Sometimes that means movement and aggression. Sometimes elegance. Sometimes a detail recognised instantly by someone who knows the car intimately. The resulting works combine automotive culture with a contemporary artistic language designed to feel expressive rather than illustrative.
Collectors are an important part of my practice. Many acquisitions begin with conversations about cars and eventually reveal stories that reach far beyond them. That relationship is especially central to commissioned works, where personal history becomes part of the artwork itself. The goal is simple: To create art that means more the longer you own it.
My artistic journey began with a fascination for the elegance, engineering and craftsmanship of exceptional automobiles. That passion truly came to life when I was invited to become an ambassador for the Danish charity organisation CoolUnite, where I found myself surrounded by extraordinary cars and the people who share a genuine passion for them.
What began as fascination evolved into my artistic language. Today, I paint the cars, moments and stories that stir emotion, from motorsport legends to highly personal collector cars.
For me, every painting is more than an interpretation of a remarkable machine. It is about capturing its character, its heritage and the personal connection that makes it worth remembering.
Every artwork is individually hand-painted by me in my studio. It begins with understanding the car, its character, history, and the details that make it truly exceptional. From there, I spend countless hours transforming that story into an original painting.
Some works evolve into clean, refined compositions, while others become raw, expressive, and full of energy. I never force a painting into a particular style; each one finds its own identity throughout the creative process.
There are no prints and no reproductions. Every piece is a one-of-one original, created entirely by hand for collectors who appreciate authenticity, craftsmanship, and the presence of something genuinely unique.
Most importantly, I paint for myself. Every painting has to excite and inspire me first. If I love the finished piece, I believe others will feel that passion too.
Once the composition is finalised, I use 10 × 15 cm black-and-white photographs as my reference. Working from monochrome images allows me to focus on light, shadow, and value rather than simply reproducing colour.
I approach colour as a tool for creating depth, atmosphere, and emotion, always challenging myself to bring something new and unexpected to every painting. The expressive dripping lines have become a signature element of my work, adding energy and movement to each piece.
For most of the painting process, I work with a 12 mm Da Vinci brush, while palette knives are my preferred tool for creating rich textures and dynamic backgrounds. I have always believed that bigger is better, large canvases give me the freedom to create artwork with real impact.
My paint of choice is Golden Acrylics, valued for their exceptional pigmentation, durability, and versatility.
The commission process is personal from the very beginning. We start with a conversation about your car, your vision and, most importantly, the story behind it.
From there, I translate those details into a one-of-one original artwork created specifically for you. The result is more than a painting of your car, it is a deeply personal piece that reflects your passion, your story and your collection.
Explore my collection through the online 3D gallery, where each artwork is presented with the attention it deserves. For those who wish to experience the paintings in person, private studio viewings can be arranged.
Seeing an original work up close reveals its true scale, texture and detail, qualities no screen can fully capture. A private viewing offers the opportunity to experience the collection personally and discover the piece that belongs in yours.
I encourage you to reach out for any inquiries or further information. You can contact me via my dedicated inquiry form on the website, or connect directly through email. My aim is to ensure your journey into the world of My art is seamless and enriching, so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
As a Charity Ambassador for the Danish organisation CoolUnite, I have had the privilege of contributing original paintings to charitable auctions and special events, where collectors have helped transform a shared passion for art and extraordinary automobiles into substantial support for children and families in need.
For me, these moments represent something particularly meaningful: seeing a one-of-one artwork inspire generosity, create excitement in the room and ultimately achieve something far greater than the painting itself.
It is a reminder that collecting can be about more than acquiring something rare. Sometimes, the true value of a work lies in what it makes possible.
